What is more the emergence of television news channels in the recent years has added feathers to this scenario. But this has stark differences with the essence of college news in the same country. The college news, on the other hand, does not deal with any of the abovementioned subjects but restrict its concentration to the respective college only.
Now this may induce many to raise questions of the pattern of news that may occur in any college. However, they fail to remember that a college does not deal with any single individual or issue but with a great number of them. These include students, teachers, staff and also the interest and prospect of the college. Now, if there is any newcomer to the college, the perceptual structure of the college news enables him/her to comprehend of the college at best. If there is any success or even any uneasy development, the form of college news remains the only way to make him or her ascertain the entire matter.
For all these reasons each and every college has its own way of presenting the college news. In many colleges of India college magazines happen to be commendable ways to disseminate the ready information. Well, anyone will make a grave mistake if this is considered as a recent phenomenon. This is in no way a recent development but has been existing in this environment for decades. But there is a difference. While in the days of national anti-imperialist struggle or freedom movement these used to work as the mouthpieces of the torments of students, nowadays it focuses on the subjects of development and common problems of the students.
Nevertheless, with the passage of years more sophisticated forms of college news are appearing. In the present days, both of websites and blogs have substituted the dominant positions of periodicals and also newspapers. But the center of attention remains the same.
